Job Title: Competition Associate 2+ yrs pqe
Location: Brussels
Salary: Highly Competitive

The Company:

They are a premier City of London law firm with an uncompromising dedication to two goals - to always exceed their clients’ expectations and to provide a more attractive place to work than their competitors.

They have recently undertaken a major expansion of its competition team, which now includes six partners.
Historically, the competition team comprised lawyers who had not practised competition law 100% of the time. Nevertheless, the team managed to secure a stream of competition work (including OFT and Competition Commission investigations). With the increase in the size of the firm and its client base, together with recent developments in competition law, the firm has established a dedicated competition practice with pure competition law specialists to build on the current practice.

In February, the team expanded further with the hiring of two partners in Brussels.

The competition team has been successful both in attracting high quality associates and excellent work, and is now looking to recruit additional lawyers. It is an exciting opportunity for competition lawyers who would like to be involved in the growth of the business.
The firm advise a broad range of clients, from FTSE 250 companies to smaller growth businesses.

The Role:

Experience required/type of work candidates can expect
Advising on all aspects of UK and EU competition law, including:

• merger control (both UK and EU), including advice on the application of merger control rules, advice on procedural aspects, making and co-ordinating notifications and advising on second phase investigations;
• cartels and information exchange;
